Thermocline

During one of my blue dives in Socorro (Mexico), the water temperature was 21 degrees and for most part of the dive it was just various shades of blue. The deeper we swam into the ocean, the darker the water became. In the middle of our dive, we hit a thermocline of 19 degrees. (This is the transition layer between the ocean's surface water which is warm and the deep blue water which is cold.) I was freezing and it felt like ice crystals were piercing through my dive suit. Thermocline inspired me to create a lehenga in ombré of blues, covered in zardozi sparkles using glass beading, sequins, stones and different kinds of glass crystals. As soon as we swam up to the surface after our dive, we were greeted by the choppiest sea. Rough waves were thrashing down. So, I designed a blouse whose sleeves mimic the choppy waves, and it is embellished with glass crystal tassels.
